Step 1: Cutting the Template
First of all, you have to make a template. In this case, you can try to use a roll of craft. However, make sure that the measurement is accurate.

After this, you have to measure the width. But when you measure the width, don’t settle for a snug fit. Go for a little loose measurement.

Draw a side of your apron. Now, it is time to cut the template with this wholly folded.

Step 2: Cutting out the Fabric
All you need to do is make the cloth symmetrical. And so, fold it again. Cut it out and make the lines as equal as you can.

Now that you are done with making the material ready, you have to sew it. In this situation, you have to get your hands on bias tape.
First of all, sew it on the edges. Precisely, sew it on the pocket’s edges. As a result, you can easily cover up the raw edges of the material. On the contrary, it looks and feels better than before.
Step 3: Cover the Raw Ends
After you have completed covering the pocket’s raw ends, you have to go for Wash Away tapes.
Yes, we are talking about the double-sided tapes. This will help you in securing the pocket in the correct place without moving them here and there.
When you're done securing them in their place, you have to sew them. Go for a straight stitch.
You have to move across the middle section. And then, move to the sides of the pockets of your new apron.
You need to sew a straight line precisely at the center of every large pocket. This will help you in dividing the large pocket into two different parts. The more the pockets, the more space for keeping gears!
Step 5: Attach the Zipper
You might get a little annoyed seeing a zipper in your DIY apron but trust us; this works amazingly!
When you have saw-dust all over, a zipper can be beneficial for you. Emptying the pockets will be more comfortable.
First of all, you have to sew the zipper into the pockets. Sew only half first. Then, you have to sew the other half to the body area of the apron.
Now, you can attach the zipper tav and then close it. It is time to stick the zipper properly in its place, and for it, you have to sew the ends of it.
In this way, the zipper tab will not come out. As a result, you will be able to close the pockets. This step is entirely optional, but to keep your gears safe, we recommend this one!Step 6: Cutting the Slit
When you are completely done with the pockets, you have to move for the legs. As you need to move your legs, you cannot keep the bottom part tight.
If it is a snug fit, you will not be able to move the legs flexibly. For this, cut a slit at the bottom. Ensure that it is small.
It will help you with comfortable leg movement. Again, take bias tape and attach it. Cover all the edges of the apron to make the ends look neat.
Step 7: DD the Straps
Now, plan for adding the straps properly. All you have to do is add 12-13 inches to the actual waist measurement you have and come up with the addition.
Now, cut a piece of webbing of 1 inch of the same size you got from the addition. Divide the webbing into two different parts.
Sew one part of this to the edge of your apron. Attach the other under the bottom pocket of your apron.
Step 8: Proper Finishing
It is time to make a loop for the buckle tensioner. You will need 6inches of webbing for this process.
You have to sew the piece on the top part of the last webbing. Now, get your hands on 48 inches of 1-inch webbing. Sew them to the top corner of your apron.
Attach the buckle first to the waist strap. Now, take the loose ends of the straps of the top part. Take them to the tensioner of the other side.
